What is Hmong Studies?

Phalen Lake’s Hmong Studies Curriculum offers students the opportunity to explore the culture, language, history, traditions, literature and art of the Hmong People.

The Hmong Culture and Language Enrichment Program, established more than five years ago, is nationally recognized. Building on the success of our Program, Hmong Studies will be integrated into the Core Knowledge Curriculum at each grade.

In addition, students interested in becoming proficient in reading and writing in Hmong will be given the opportunity to participate in Hmong Literacy classes.
